BRIC Inquiry Guides

The BRIC Initiative aims to help community college faculty, staff, and administrators discover or recapture passionate, thoughtful inquiry and use it to enhance the broader student experience. To support this aim, a series of Inquiry guides have been developed. They are 10-20 page documents centered around an institutional topic (see list below). They recommend best practices and strategies to promote increased and authentic use of inquiry and evidence, with suggestions for potential directions for processes, procedures, standards, and protocols. The overarching objectives and framework for the BRIC Initiative are also explained within each guide. They can be found at http://www.rpgroup.org/content/BRIC-inquiry-guides

Six inquiry guides are immediately available for your perusal and feedback :
1. Assessing Student Learning Outcomes
2. Assessing Strategic Points in Student Services
3. A Model for Building Information Capacity and Promoting a Culture of Inquiry
4. Assessing Basic Skills Outcomes
5. Maximizing the Program Review Process
6. Turning Data into Meaningful Action

As you read the guides, please consider providing us with any constructive feedback by posting your comments on the BRIC Inquiry Guide Forum. What did you find useful? What needs to be changed? What should be added? We aim to revise these guides in the next academic year based on your thoughts.
